The Bonnyville Municipal Library has added two new free activities to its summer programming: board game nights for teens and adults, and a DIY mini parachute craft for kids. The programs were part of the library’s Summer Reading Program, which runs through August 31, 2026, giving families affordable ways to stay busy before school starts.
Adult and Teen Board Game Nights happen on select evenings and are open to anyone 13 and older. The library provides a variety of board games, or people can bring their own. It’s a casual drop-in style event, and no registration is needed. “We have lots of board games to provide, or you can bring one you want to play,” said Kat Eliason, Library Programs Team Lead. “It’s a casual drop-in time frame.”
For younger kids, DIY Mini Parachutes runs on Tuesdays for ages 6 to 12. Children will make their own mini parachutes, with all materials supplied by the library. This activity is also drop-in and free, just like other summer programs for that age group.
Kids ages 6 to 12 can also take part in drop-in sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Wednesday activities require pre-registration. Morning sessions run 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and afternoon sessions are 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Most kids’ summer programming runs through August 18, with a wrap-up party on August 19.
