Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police are looking for witnesses after a group of spectators caused significant damage to the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre during a local hockey game on March 26, 2026.
Between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., police report that a group of youth and young adult spectators climbed the hockey boards at the facility on Salmon Avenue. The individuals hung from the protective glass panels and aggressively rocked them until the glass and its supports shattered. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Investigators are aware that several people recorded the event and that videos are currently circulating on social media. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the damage or who has video footage to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation, reference number E260428212. The arena remains open for public use despite the damage. According to the town, temporary repairs have already been made to the facility, and final repairs are expected to be finished in the spring of 2026.
