A 68-year-old Cambridge man is facing multiple charges following a stabbing incident that occurred at a residential property near Harris Street and Maple Ridge Road on the evening of May 8, 2026.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a report of the incident at approximately 11 a.m. on May 9, 2026. The altercation resulted in minor physical injuries to a male victim and significant injuries to a dog, which was transported to a local animal hospital. The dog is expected to recover from its wounds.
Following the investigation, the accused has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and injury to an animal. The man was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing. The incident is being tracked by police under occurrence number WA26067272.
