The Municipality of North Cypress-Langford, Manitoba, has announced that the Fairview Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, March 5, 2026. This closure means residents will have no local municipal options to drop off their garbage or recycling on that day.
The Fairview site, located north of the Trans-Canada Highway on Road 84W, is currently running on its winter schedule. Because the site is usually only open on Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this single-day closure effectively cancels all waste services at this location for the entire week.
Residents who need to dispose of waste can use other transfer stations in the area later in the week. The Carberry Transfer Station, located east of town, will be open on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Langford site, located north of Highway 16 on Road 86W, will also be open on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Local officials remind the community that all garbage and recycling fees are managed under By-Law 12-2023.
