The Municipality of North Cypress-Langford has officially updated its pay rates for elected officials. Local council recently passed By-Law No. 1-2026, which sets the current compensation for the Reeve and ward councillors.
This new measure replaces the previous version, By-Law 15-2018, which had governed council pay for the past eight years. The updated document is now listed among the official bylaws and policies of the municipality.
The municipal council consists of Reeve Ray Drayson and six ward councillors representing the community: Rob Van Kommer in Ward 1, Harold Tolton in Ward 2, Grant Jardine in Ward 3, Deputy Reeve Dallis Olmstead in Ward 4, Gerond Davidson in Ward 5, and Malcolm Murray in Ward 6. These elected members provide oversight for the municipality, which serves a population of 3,011 residents across the Westman region.
The municipality, with its administrative office located at 316 4th Avenue in Carberry, was formed in 2015 following the amalgamation of the Rural Municipalities of North Cypress and Langford. Residents looking for more information on municipal operations can contact the office of Interim Chief Administrative Officer Valorie Unrau, or attend council meetings held on the second Monday of each month at 9:00 AM.
