A stretch of Simcoe Street in downtown Collingwood, Ontario, will close this weekend to make way for the fifth annual Collingwood Pride Festival.
The closure runs from 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, between Hurontario and St. Paul Streets. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are asked to use caution and follow the posted detour signs.
The Collingwood Pride Festival marks five years of celebrating the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Collingwood and South Georgian Bay. Organizers from The Rainbow Club of South Georgian Bay have planned a full weekend of events including a flag raising, live performances, a vendor market, and a family zone.
On Saturday, July 11, the Pride Parade runs from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., accompanied by additional temporary road closures. Ste Marie Street, Hume Street, and Hurontario Street will shut down from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to accommodate the parade route, according to the Town of Collingwood.
