Collingwood town council is set to consider a new pool rental rate aimed at commercial users during its July 6, 2026, meeting. The proposed change would add a basic commercial rate of $122 per hour for the Centennial Aquatic Centre pool, creating a distinct category for local businesses like swim clubs, sports camps, and private instructors.
According to a notice posted June 29 on the Town of Collingwood website, the amendment to By-law No. 2025-086 would mark the first commercial-specific pool rental fee. Currently, the Centennial Aquatic Centre offers an hourly basic rate of $112 for groups of up to 25 people, a non-profit youth rate of $56, warm water pool access at $36, and single-lane rentals at $18.75. The new $122 commercial rate represents a roughly 9 percent jump over the existing basic rate.
The move comes five months after council adopted the 2026 municipal budget with a 2.39 percent blended tax increase, adding about $62 per year for a median-assessed home. That budget already brought in a 15 percent surcharge on recreation programs and facilities for non-residents, a step meant to give locals first crack at popular town services.
