Three Collingwood healthcare facilities have recently faced respiratory outbreaks, though one has since been declared over, according to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. As of May 25, active outbreaks remain at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital and Collingwood Care Centre, while Pretty River Retirement Residence’s outbreak ended the same day.
At the Medical Unit of Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, an RSV outbreak was declared on May 13. Patients are limited to one visitor at a time, and everyone must wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, and follow any personal protective equipment rules. The hospital reinstated universal masking in clinical areas back in December 2025 as respiratory illness started climbing in the community.
Over at Collingwood Care Centre, a facility-wide respiratory outbreak took hold on May 20, according to the health unit—though the centre’s own outbreak page lists an earlier date of May 1. Neither influenza nor COVID-19 has been confirmed as the cause. The 60-resident long-term care home is operated by Jarlette Health Services.
Pretty River Retirement Residence, part of Raglan Village, saw its facility-wide respiratory outbreak—also declared May 13 with an unidentified pathogen—marked over on May 25.
