The Town of Collingwood, Ontario, released its 2025 Drinking Water System Report on March 3, 2026, confirming that the local water supply met all provincial safety standards. The annual report highlighted a 100 per cent compliance record and a zero per cent risk rating for the community’s water infrastructure throughout the year.
This perfect score was issued following a series of inspections by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. These provincial officials check municipal water systems across Ontario to ensure they follow strict laws designed to protect public health and safety.
The report follows a short period in late 2025 when residents were asked to take extra precautions with their tap water. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit issued a precautionary boil water advisory on December 12, 2025, which affected the entire town.
That advisory was lifted on December 15, 2025, after several rounds of testing proved the water was safe to drink. The new annual report shows that despite that brief event, the town’s overall system maintained its high regulatory standing for the entire 2025 calendar year.
Local officials use these yearly results to monitor the health of the water utility as the community continues to grow. These inspections confirm that the town’s water treatment and delivery systems remain a high-priority public asset for the health of all residents.
