The Collingwood Curling Club will host a new full-day tournament called The Shamrock Shpiel on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Collingwood, Ontario. This invitational event features a mixed-team format and will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., bringing visiting players to the Georgian Bay area just before St. Patrick’s Day.
The competition will take over all six lanes of ice at the club’s building at 250 Hume Street. Because the tournament lasts all day, the facility will suspend its regular Saturday league games and public ice sessions to accommodate the visiting teams.
Teams participating in the event are required to follow a specific format where players of alternating genders take turns during the matches. The tournament is supported by more than 80 local businesses, including Creemore Springs Brewery and Side Launch Brewing Company.
Residents should expect the parking lot at Central Park to be busier than usual while the event is taking place. The Collingwood Curling Club has been a fixture in the community since 1881 and has operated at its current location in the park for over 75 years.
