The Cornwall Concert Series is changing its tune. The upcoming 2025-2026 season at Aultsville Theatre in Cornwall, Ontario, will focus on classical and dance programming, moving away from the mix of rock, folk, and jazz that audiences have seen in recent years.
The Cornwall Concert Series revealed its new lineup this week; five shows running from September 2025 through May 2026. The series opens on September 19, 2025 with Canada’s own National Arts Centre Orchestra playing Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony at 7:30 p.m. The rest of the performances are on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m.
The season continues on October 5, 2025 with Schmaltz & Pepper, a Toronto chamber group that mixes klezmer, Yiddish swing, jazz, and classical music. On November 9, 2025, the Belgian cello octet Ô-Celli will present ‘At the Movies,’ playing music from film scores.
In 2026, CBC broadcaster Tom Allen brings his multimedia show J.S. Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow to the stage on April 12. The season wraps up on May 24 with Ballet Jörgen Canada and its Canadian adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, set in the North with moose, beavers, and the Northern Lights to Mendelssohn’s score.
This is a sharp turn from the 2024-2025 season, which included Latin guitarist Johannes Linstead, the accordion/clarinet duo Michael Bridge & Kornel Wolak, and several classical soloists and duos. The volunteer-run series has been bringing shows to Cornwall for more than 30 years at the 680-seat Aultsville Theatre on the St. Lawrence College campus.
