The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise is bringing back its Agape Community Dinners this fall, offering three free meals to residents in need on select Thursdays starting October 22, 2026. Each dinner will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Agape Centre, Cornwall’s largest food bank and community kitchen.
The club has scheduled dinners for October 22, November 12, and December 10, continuing a long tradition of serving hot meals at the Agape Centre. The Agape Centre serves over 3,000 people each month, including about 1,000 children, and has seen a 150 percent increase in food bank usage since March 2020.
The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise has a history of supporting the Agape Centre, previously providing monthly luncheons until the program was terminated by the centre. The resumption of the dinners comes at a critical time as food insecurity continues to affect many Cornwall households.
In April 2026, the City of Cornwall and United Counties of SDG announced one-time funding of $79,307 for local food programs, with the Agape Centre receiving about $15,860 of that amount. The funding was intended to help food banks and community kitchens respond to rising demand.
