The Cornwall Police Service arrested a 35-year-old local woman on March 12, 2026, following a stabbing that took place in Cornwall, Ontario. The incident happened near the intersection of First Street East and Prince Arthur Street on February 28, 2026.
According to police, a man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the confrontation. Investigators were able to identify the suspect using local security camera footage.
Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement squad assisted local detectives in finding and arresting the woman. She now faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The woman was also charged with possessing a firearm or ammunition while under a legal order not to have them. She was held in custody to wait for a bail hearing.
