The annual Cornwall Art Walk returns to downtown Cornwall on Saturday, June 27, 2026, turning Pitt Street into a lively open-air arts district from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Hosted by the Cornwall Downtown Business Improvement Area and organized with Your Arts Council Cornwall & the Counties, the free event invites residents and visitors to explore local creativity and enjoy an evening in the city’s cultural heart.
Pitt Street will be closed to vehicles from Second Street to the Cornwall Square, making room for over 70 vendors. Attendees can expect artists, artisans, live musicians, street performers, and aerial demonstrations, along with a Family Zone for younger visitors. Last year’s Art Walk drew an estimated 3,000 to 4,000 people, and organizers are preparing for another strong turnout.
The event is a collaborative effort led by the Cornwall Art Walk committee, including Brett Desrosiers, Richard Salem, Debbie Poirier Burns, and Fransiska Indromojo. Salem, who facilitates Your Arts Council, noted that the number of vendors grew from 62 in 2024 to more than 70 in 2025. A grant from the Downtown Cornwall BIA helped expand entertainment and advertising last year, attracting both locals and out-of-town guests.
The Art Walk also brings a significant economic boost to the community. Based on 2022 figures, the event generated an estimated $786,000 in local economic activity, including hotel stays and restaurant visits. The BIA funds its operations and event support through a levy on downtown businesses, reinvesting directly into projects that strengthen the area.
With no admission fee and a full afternoon and evening of programming, the Art Walk offers a chance to experience downtown Cornwall at its most vibrant. “Experience the creativity, culture, and community of Downtown Cornwall,” organizers say.
