On March 10, 2026, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, announced that Jamie Fawthrop will be the region’s new chief administrative officer. This top official is responsible for overseeing regional services and the county budget, which directly impacts local taxes and public construction projects.
Fawthrop will begin his new position on June 1, 2026. He is currently the lead administrator for the Township of South Glengarry and has spent 15 years in municipal leadership roles throughout the local area.
The county stated that Fawthrop’s experience includes past senior management work for the City of Cornwall. In those roles, he was responsible for overseeing departments related to planning, development, and recreation.
This appointment fills the vacancy left by retiring administrator Maureen Adams. Warden François Landry noted that the county is confident in Fawthrop’s knowledge of the region and his ability to manage inter-municipal projects.
