The Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) is hosting a free status card clinic in Dauphin, Manitoba, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, to help First Nations citizens obtain or renew their identification. The event will take place at the Ukrainian Orthodox Auditorium, located at 304 Whitmore Avenue East, and is open to any community members who need assistance with their documentation.
The clinic will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and will accept walk-ins, so residents do not need to book an appointment in advance. Staff will help people apply for new cards or renew existing ones for the Secure Certificate of Indian Status.
These status cards are essential for daily life as they are used to access health services, education, and other government-provided benefits. By bringing the clinic to Dauphin, the organizers hope to make it easier for local residents to maintain their essential paperwork without having to travel to major urban centers.
The Southern Chiefs’ Organization represents 33 First Nations and more than 92,000 citizens across southern Manitoba. This local event is part of a larger effort to provide direct support to First Nation citizens living in regional hubs.
