High River Library is rolling out its fall 2026 programs, swapping the summer reading club for new free activities for kids, teens, and adults. The lineup kicks off Friday, September 4 at the library at 909 1 Street SW.
Pre-school Story Time runs from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and is open to children ages 2 to 5 with an adult. Attendees will read stories, sing songs, make a craft, and maybe dance a little. Baby Rhyme Time follows from 11:30 a.m. to noon for parents and caregivers with babies up to 24 months. That 30-minute session uses songs, rhymes, and finger plays to build early literacy skills and connect families. Both programs are drop-in and free.
The same afternoon, the library’s Makerspace opens from 2 to 5 p.m. Established in 2024, the Makerspace gives visitors hands-on access to 3D printing, heat presses, sewing machines, 3D pens, and button presses. The library also offers one-on-one Intro to 3D Printing sessions for anyone 8 and up. After completing the course, patrons can use the library’s two Prusa i3 MK3S printers to make small items for free. A new Bambu P2S printer adds multi-colour capability.
Fall programming marks the end of the TD Summer Reading Club, which ran through July and August for kids ages 4 and up. Additional September offerings include Open Makerspace on September 8, a Wednesday Book Club starting September 9, Adult Craft and Create sessions, Teen Time Thursday, STREAM Storytime for preschoolers, and Afternoons for Adults. All programs are free and open to the community.
