Families in Hinton, Alberta, can drop into the Hinton Municipal Library this weekend to make handmade cards for Father’s Day at no cost. The library is hosting a free card-making activity on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.
The event requires no registration and is open to all ages, so residents can stop by anytime during the four-hour window to create a personalized card. All materials will be provided by the library, which is located at 803 Switzer Drive inside the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre.
“Feel free to pop in any time to create a special card for someone you’d like to celebrate this Father’s Day,” the library says on its event page.
The card-making activity is part of the library’s ongoing lineup of free community programs, which range from Adult Craft Nights and STEAM Club to Dungeons & Dragons and Summer Reading Club. The library serves Hinton and the surrounding area as a welcoming space for learning and connection.
Since opening in 1970, the Hinton Municipal Library has grown alongside the community. It moved into the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre in 1983 and underwent a major expansion in 2006. In January 2023, the library eliminated late fees to improve access for all residents.
