The Kingston Police Service is asking for the public’s help to identify a driver involved in an assault on two elderly pedestrians that left one man with serious injuries. The incident occurred on the morning of May 14, 2026, in the 3000 block of Princess Street.
According to police, the two brothers, aged 71 and 66, were attempting to walk to the West Side Pharmacy at approximately 7:18 a.m. when the interaction began. The older man used his cane to signal a black SUV to stop after the vehicle came close to hitting them while they were crossing the road.
Witness accounts indicate the driver then exited the vehicle, punched one of the men in the face, and shoved both brothers to the ground before fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. The 71-year-old victim sustained a broken hip that required surgery and remains in the hospital, while his 66-year-old brother suffered minor injuries.
Investigators are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the event or who has video footage of the area that might help identify the driver.
