Leduc County Council approved the 2026 final budget on April 28, 2026, which will result in a tax increase for local property owners. Residents and farmland owners will see a 2 per cent tax increase, while non-residential properties face a 2.5 per cent increase compared to 2025.
The total municipal budget for the year is set at $152.3 million, which includes $120.4 million for daily operations and $31.9 million for capital projects. As part of this spending, Leduc County has earmarked $14.3 million for road projects and maintenance, $7.3 million for the East Water Transmission Line in Nisku, and $5.6 million for bridge upgrades.
A primary feature of this year’s budget is a service improvement for the county’s 1,732 km gravel road network. The county is investing $2,057,000 to add three graders to its fleet, which will expand the number of service routes from 11 to 13 to help with ongoing road maintenance.
Property tax notices are set to be mailed on May 28, 2026, and payments are due by June 30, 2026. In addition to local municipal services, the county will collect and forward $37.7 million in requisitions to the Government of Alberta and the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation, an increase from the $34.3 million collected for these organizations in 2025.
Mayor Tanni Doblanko and the council finalized these figures following the provincial budget release, adhering to the standard municipal process for budget approvals.
