Eight farms and producers across the Leduc Region are inviting visitors to explore local agriculture during the 14th annual Alberta Open Farm Days on August 15 and 16, 2026. The event offers free tours, tastings, and hands-on activities, with a few experiences requiring advance registration.
Discover Leduc Region says this year’s lineup is the largest concentration of participating sites near Edmonton. Farms include Twa Dugs Farm, Sunnyhill Alpacas and Twisted Sisters Mill, Leduc Brewing Company, The Old Red Barn, Old Station Honey and Mead, Rig Hand Distillery, Great and Small Adventure Farm, and Beaumont and District Agricultural Society.
Visitors can meet alpacas at Sunnyhill Alpacas, which has been raising the animals since 1998, or sample craft spirits at Rig Hand Distillery in Nisku, the first craft distillery in the greater Edmonton area. Leduc Brewing Company offers free brewery tours and an exclusive Alberta Open Farm brew for sale. Garlic lovers can stop by Twa Dugs Farm near Warburg to see three varieties of hardneck garlic and browse homemade products.
The Old Red Barn, a former dairy barn turned agritourism venue, hosts a ticketed Farm to Folk dinner on Saturday evening featuring live music from Kim Gates and Samantha Lee and a three-course fire-cooked meal by Chef Tyson Wright. The menu includes smoked Alberta beef burger, loaded baked potato kebab, and baked apple pie with maple caramel.
Old Station Honey and Mead in New Sarepta, the closest meadery to Edmonton, offers tastings of mead made from local honey and berries. Great and Small Adventure Farm welcomes families to its 158-acre property, while Beaumont and District Agricultural Society opens its Urban Agriculture Centre at its 71-acre facility for demonstrations.
