The 2026 Presidents Cup Senior B Box Lacrosse Championship is underway at the Silent Ice Centre in Nisku, just outside Leduc, from August 30 to September 5. The tournament brings eight of Canada’s top Senior B lacrosse teams to the region for a week of high-level competition.
Teams competing include the Edmonton Miners, Brooklin Merchants, Ladner Pioneers, Saskatchewan Selects, Six Nations Rivermen, Snake Island Muskies, Winnipeg Blizzard, and Allegany Arrows. The Snake Island Muskies enter as defending champions after winning the 2025 title in Whitby, Ontario.
The Edmonton Miners Lacrosse Club is the host organization and has a strong history at this event, winning national championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The club has been active since 1985 and has also claimed seven consecutive provincial titles.
For Leduc, the tournament is a boost for local businesses and hospitality. Leduc’s sports tourism sector generated over $1.7 million in direct visitor spending from two major 2025 events, according to Leduc’s Sports Tourism Coordinator Janet Guthrie. The city hosts more than 200 events annually, and this championship adds to that busy calendar.
The Presidents Cup has been the national Senior B box lacrosse championship since 1964. Games are played daily throughout the week at the Silent Ice Centre, located at 1515 35 Ave in Nisku, with the venue featuring twin NHL-sized rinks.
