Residents in Leduc, Alberta, can breathe a sigh of relief as weather conditions improve and all active weather alerts for the area have been lifted as of April 17, 2026.
Environment Canada and the 511 Alberta system have both confirmed that there are no longer any active warnings or advisories for the region. This update follows a period of challenging weather that included a significant snowfall warning issued on April 15 and a separate fog advisory that had reduced visibility to near-zero on some area highways.
The snowfall warning, which affected a wide area from Banff to the Saskatchewan border, had previously forecasted between 10 and 25 centimetres of snow, with some locations expecting as much as 30 centimetres. While that system has now passed, residents monitoring local conditions will see a shift in the forecast.
Leduc is currently experiencing mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures sitting at -5°C. Residents can expect a warming trend heading into the weekend, with temperatures anticipated to rise to 8°C on Friday. A more significant warm-up is expected by early next week, with temperatures projected to reach between 16°C and 20°C.
