A 56-year-old man from Lethbridge, Alberta, is facing charges after a truck hit an elderly pedestrian earlier this week. The Lethbridge Police Service reported that the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. on March 2, 2026, at the intersection of 13 Street and 3 Avenue North.
The victim, a 78-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries when he was struck by a Dodge Ram truck. He was first taken to Chinook Regional Hospital but was later moved to a medical facility in Calgary where he remains in critical condition.
Following the collision, officers arrested 56-year-old Joseph Cameron Brewster. He has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08.
Brewster has been released from custody and will make his first appearance in court on April 29, 2026. Local police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
