Milton Transit is launching a new bus route to the Derry Green Corporate Business Park and updating school services starting today, September 8, 2026. The changes affect commuters heading to the industrial area, students using school specials, and anyone catching buses at Milton GO Station.
The new Route 31 will run along Fifth Line during weekday peak periods, with morning service from 5:22 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. and afternoon and evening service from 2:25 p.m. to 7:03 p.m. The route is designed to connect workers to the growing business park, which is already home to employers like DSV, Lululemon, Rockwool, Princess Auto, and Lowe’s. When fully built out, Derry Green is expected to provide about 18,000 jobs.
School special routes are also being updated for the 2026-27 school year. Routes 50 through 54 will see route and schedule changes, Route 53A will be renumbered as Route 55, and a new Route 56 will serve Elsie MacGill Secondary School. The routes cover Milton District High School, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School, Craig Kielburger Secondary School, and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Secondary School.
At Milton GO Station, several bus stops are moving to improve traffic flow in the terminal loop. Routes 9A and 9B will move from Stop #2203 outside the loop to Stop #2169 inside the loop. Routes 2E and 2W will move in the opposite direction, from Stop #2169 to Stop #2203. New stop numbers are being introduced throughout the loop.
Minor schedule adjustments will also be made to Route 1 – High Point to improve efficiency. Riders are encouraged to check updated schedules at miltontransit.ca before travelling. More details are available on the Town of Milton website.
