Lanark County is now accepting nominations for its 2026 Awards of Excellence, which recognize residents and organizations that have made significant contributions to the community. The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, October 2, 2026, and awards will be presented at the first County Council meeting in November.
The awards were created in 2005 to thank residents and organizations for their generosity and exceptional work. They are given across categories including Volunteerism, Community Service, Youth, Business/Industry, Agriculture, Tourism, Heritage/Ecology, Arts/Culture, Recreation/Sports, Philanthropy, and Other.
Nominations must be made by another person or organization; self-nominations are not accepted. Sitting members of County Council are also not eligible to place nominations. Recipients are recognized on a plaque in the county administration building in Perth, as well as on the county website and through local media.

Last year’s recipients included Erin Lee and Korrine Jordan for Community Service, Isabel Lowry for Recreation/Sports, and Sheila Gibson for Volunteerism. The 2026 warden, Richard Kidd of Beckwith Township, will present the awards in November.
