On March 15, 2026, the Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre in Niverville, Manitoba, hosted the annual Eastman Cup speed skating competition. The event brought together regional athletes for a series of races that ran from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The races were organized by Speed Skating Manitoba and served as an official competition approved by Speed Skating Canada. This gathering gives local club members a chance to compete at a regional level against other skaters from across the area.
The competition was open to various groups, including regular competitive members, Special Olympics athletes, and Master athletes. Participants were required to pay an 80 dollar registration fee and sign up by March 5, 2026, to take part in the races.
Hosting the Eastman Cup helps support the development of winter sports in the region. The Niverville facility has become a regular site for this event, having also hosted the competition in 2025.
