Niverville town council is set to decide on a proposal that would bring a new outdoor summer market to the community every Thursday from May to September 2026. The Niverville Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for permission to operate the market in the parking lot along Arena Road, located near the train tracks.
The town has offered the use of the parking lot near the Centennial Arena free of charge to help establish the weekly event. To support the initiative, the town has committed to providing market organizers with access to washrooms, water, and electricity, as well as handling garbage collection after the market closes each evening.
The proposed market aims to provide a regular venue for local growers, bakers, and makers to sell their goods directly to residents. While the concept was initially discussed by the town council in October 2025 with a focus on Friday afternoons, the current application reflects a move to a Thursday schedule.
A public hearing regarding this proposal is set for April 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Niverville Community Resource and Recreation Centre, located at 501 Centre Street.
