Kids in Orangeville and Dufferin County can now register for a summer filled with acting, singing, and creative fun through the Theatre Orangeville Academy summer camp programs. The camps run from June 5 to September 4, 2026, offering children in grades 1 through 8 a hands-on theatre experience at the historic Orangeville Opera House on Broadway.
The summer lineup includes 15 different camps tailored to various age groups and interests. Younger children in grades 1 to 3 can join the Tiny Stars camp starting July 13, while the Young Players camp for grades 3 to 6 and Centre Stage for grades 5 to 8 both run the week of July 6. Older kids looking for a deeper dive can sign up for the Young Company in Training musical theatre intensive, a two-week program beginning July 20.
Camp fees range from $45 for a single-day PA Day camp on June 5 up to $460 for the two-week Young Company in Training program. Most one-week camps cost $230. The academy makes sure that cost is not a barrier. “No one has ever, or will ever, be turned away from Academy programming as a result of financial difficulty,” the organization states, offering tuition bursaries to families that need them.
The camps are run by the Theatre Orangeville Academy, the educational arm of the long-standing professional theatre company. Kait Gallant, the academy’s programs coordinator, knows the value of these programs firsthand—she was once a participant herself. “Kait is an artist and facilitator based out of Dufferin County,” the academy notes, and she now helps a new generation of kids discover the stage.
Registration is open now on the Theatre Orangeville website. For more information about bursaries, families can contact Kait Gallant at [email protected].
