The three-day Nashville Takeover coming to Downtown Orangeville from July 10 to 12 will go ahead with a revised lineup of host venues and a new reservation system after three locations pulled out.
Organizers Downtown Orangeville BIA and Backyard Music Co. confirmed that The Hatter, Bluebird Cafe & Grill, and Greystones have withdrawn from the event. In response, they have released an updated schedule and introduced a venue reservation system for some of the intimate songwriter showcases.
Over 15 surprise songwriters from Nashville and across Canada will still perform at several remaining venues, including Barley Vine Rail Co. in the historic 1907 train station on Armstrong Street and Taphouse Craft Beer & Kitchen on Mill Street. Other confirmed spots are Lightcaster, Best Western, Orangeville Opera House, Kelsey’s, and the Athlete Institute.
Festival passholders should check their email for updated schedules and the link needed to reserve spots at select shows. Tickets remain on sale for anyone who wants to join the weekend of live music, shopping, and dining throughout the downtown.
Scotty James, a Waterloo-raised, Billboard-charting artist, launched Backyard Music Co. to bring up-close songwriter rounds to communities across Canada. Orangeville is one of only 13 towns chosen for the 2026 tour, with the local BIA actively working to fill downtown businesses with music fans.
