The City of Oshawa has officially started a project to replace pathway surfaces at Lakeview Park, a popular waterfront destination in Ontario. The work, which began on April 20, 2026, aims to improve trail connectivity and accessibility throughout the 44-acre park.
Visitors to the park, located at 55 Lakeview Park Ave, can expect to see crews removing existing interlock pathways to make room for wider, asphalt-paved trails. The project also includes minor repairs across the grounds and specific accessibility upgrades at the historic Jubilee Pavilion. Opened in 1927 to commemorate Canada’s Diamond Jubilee, the pavilion remains a well-known local venue for banquets and conferences.
City officials are managing the construction in phases to minimize disruptions for those using the park, which is a key part of the regional Waterfront Trail system. The project is currently part of a larger $44.5 million municipal investment in major infrastructure and safety improvements for 2026.
