The Oshawa FireWolves professional lacrosse team earned their first back-to-back victories of the 2025-2026 season this March. After defeating the Philadelphia Wings on the road, the team secured a sweep of the home-and-home series with a second victory at the Tribute Communities Centre, providing a boost to local fans as the group pushes for a playoff position.
These wins followed the strategic signing of veteran forward Ryan Benesch on March 11, 2026. Benesch and teammate Alex Simmons scored critical goals in the final period of the most recent game to put the score out of reach and help the team secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
The franchise is currently in its inaugural year in the Durham Region after relocating from Albany in August 2025. While the team faced a difficult start to the season, the recent shift in momentum is helping their effort to reach a top-eight spot in the National Lacrosse League standings. The team now enters a final bye week before continuing their pursuit of a post-season appearance.
