The Oshawa Generals finished their 2025-2026 hockey season in Oshawa, Ontario, on March 22, 2026, without a spot in the upcoming playoffs. This marks the first time the local junior team has missed the tournament since the 2009-10 season.
The team ended the year with a 19-45-3-1 record after a final home game against the Peterborough Petes. Despite the tough season, a full capacity crowd gathered at the Tribute Communities Centre to support the players during the season finale.
Owen Griffin led the team in scoring this year, finishing with 25 goals and 42 assists. Another season highlight included forward Onni Kalto scoring three goals in a single game against the Ottawa 67’s on March 20, 2026.
The team is currently in a rebuilding phase after several key players moved on to professional leagues. Former star forward Beckett Sennecke, who was a major part of previous winning seasons, made his debut in the NHL earlier this season with the Anaheim Ducks.
With 13 league championships and five national titles in their history, the Generals remain one of the most successful franchises in junior hockey. The team will now look toward next season to begin their climb back into the playoff standings.
