The City of Oshawa is celebrating National Youth Week from May 1 to May 7, 2026, by offering a variety of free activities for residents. The program, planned in collaboration with the Oshawa Youth Council and BGC Durham, aims to provide local youth with accessible sports, arts, and social programming.
The city is hosting several free events throughout the week. Advance registration is required for some programming, while other events are drop-in.
BGC Durham, a nonprofit that has served youth in the region for 60 years, is also providing several activities. Their schedule includes a Jr. Youth Social on May 1, the BGC Fest on May 2, a youth volleyball tournament on May 4, basketball tournaments on May 5 and May 7, and a Bingo Blitz and Trivia Night on May 7.
The Oshawa Youth Council, which helped coordinate these events, serves as a youth advisory committee for the city. Residents can find more information about the full schedule and how to register for specific sessions on the official city website.
