Oshawa, Ontario residents have until March 16, 2026, to nominate an outstanding local senior for the 2026 Ontario Senior of the Year Award, which honours those who have improved the community after age 65. This award gives the City of Oshawa an opportunity to recognize one citizen each year for their social, cultural, or civic contributions.
The Oshawa Senior Community Centres is currently managing the call for nominations for the city. All entries must be submitted by 5:00 PM on the deadline date to be considered.
To be eligible for the honour, a candidate must be at least 65 years old. The program is specifically designed to highlight work and volunteering done by residents after they have reached that age.
The chosen recipient will be presented with the award in June 2026. This recognition occurs during Seniors’ Month, which celebrates the role older adults play in communities across the province.
