Oshawa Public Libraries is offering “Grab and Go” bags for teenagers in Oshawa, Ontario, starting March 2, 2026. The program provides local youth aged 12 to 18 with a collection of books and activities to use at home before the school break begins.
Each bag contains a mix of library books, a ready-to-do activity, and small freebies. The initiative was put together by the OPL Teen Advisory Group to give students a simple way to find entertainment without needing to attend a scheduled event at a branch.
Residents must reserve a bag through the library’s online system, and they will be handed out while supplies last until March 14, 2026. This allows families to pick up materials before the official March Break starts on March 16 and the upcoming PA day on March 13.
The teen volunteers who lead the advisory group curated the contents specifically for their peers. The program is designed to be a convenient option for families who might find it difficult to attend regular library workshops or when other scheduled programs are already full.
