The Durham Regional Police Service has arrested a 27-year-old woman following a stabbing in downtown Oshawa that sent another woman to the hospital early on March 29, 2026.
Officers from the Central East Division responded to the area of Simcoe Street South and John Street East at approximately 1:40 a.m. after receiving a call to assist emergency medical services. Upon arrival, police discovered that a female suspect had stabbed another woman before leaving the scene.
Responding officers performed life-saving measures on the victim until she could be transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. The victim is currently in serious condition, though her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police located the suspect, Rylee Caitlyn Millar, a short time later and took her into custody without incident. Millar, who is of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She was held in custody to await a bail hearing.
