The City of Pembroke has announced the dates for its upcoming spring leaf and yard waste collection. Residents can have their yard waste picked up during the weeks of May 4 and May 18, 2026, on their regular collection days.
Because Victoria Day falls on Monday, May 18, collection schedules will shift for some residents. The City of Pembroke and the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre remind those living in the area to confirm any changes to their regular pickup day due to the holiday.
To ensure materials are collected, residents must place yard waste in open-top reusable containers, cardboard boxes, or paper yard waste bags. Plastic bags will not be accepted, including those marketed as biodegradable or compostable. Bundled branches must be tied with biodegradable twine or string and cannot exceed 4 feet in length, 2 feet in diameter, or 2 inches in diameter for individual branches.
Collected materials are managed by the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Centre, which provides waste management services for a partnership including Pembroke, Petawawa, Laurentian Valley, and North Algona Wilberforce. Residents also have the option to drop off leaves and grass clippings at the facility, located at 900 Woito Station Road, free of charge.
