The City of Pitt Meadows will hold a general local election on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to determine the leadership for the next four-year term. Voters in the community will elect one mayor, six city councillors, and two school trustees for the Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows School District 42.
Residents interested in running for office can pick up candidate nomination packages starting August 4, 2026. The official nomination period will run from September 1 to September 11, 2026, with the list of candidates to be declared after 4:00 p.m. on the final day. Following the campaign period, which is set for September 19 through October 17, the newly elected council is expected to hold its inaugural meeting on November 3, 2026.
Those looking to participate in the upcoming vote are reminded that the deadline for advance voter registration through Elections BC is August 18, 2026. The upcoming vote marks the end of the current term for the city council, which includes Mayor Nicole MacDonald and councillors Tracy Elke (Miyashita), Alison Evans, Mike Hayes, Mike Manion, Bob Meachen, and Gwen O’Connell. In the 2022 election, which saw a 23.3 percent voter turnout, Mayor MacDonald was acclaimed after running unopposed, while voters elected the current slate of councillors and trustees.
