Port Alberni is kicking off the week with warm, mostly sunny weather, but Environment Canada says residents should be ready for a sharp shift to cooler and rainy conditions by Thursday. Monday is expected to reach a high of 26°C under a mix of sun and cloud, making it a great day to get outside before the change arrives.
According to Environment Canada, Tuesday will see some early cloud clearing by noon and a high of 23°C, while Canada Day on Wednesday is looking sunny with a high of 22°C—perfect for outdoor celebrations. The UV index is forecast to be high both Monday and Tuesday, so covering up and wearing sunscreen is a good idea.
Thursday brings a noticeable change as a rainy system moves in. Environment Canada calls for periods of rain and a cooler high of just 17°C, which is a drop of roughly 9 degrees from Monday’s peak. Overnight temperatures will settle around 11°C with a 70 percent chance of continuing showers.
The Weather Network is also tracking Thursday’s system and puts the odds of rain at 60 percent, with around 1 mm of precipitation expected. While not a major storm, it will be enough to dampen any lingering outdoor plans from earlier in the week.
The good news is the wet weather shouldn’t last long. Environment Canada says Friday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high of 23°C. By the weekend, sunshine returns with highs of 22°C on Saturday and 23°C on Sunday, bringing back pleasant conditions for barbecues or getting out on the trails.
