Residents in Prince Rupert are invited to attend the next open board meeting for School District 52, taking place on May 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The gathering serves as an opportunity for parents and community members to stay informed about the decisions made by the local school board.
The meeting will be held at the Booth Meeting Room, located at 500 Hays Cove Circle. Those planning to attend in person can access the building by heading off of 5th Ave East, through the Lax Kxeen parking lot, and entering the back of the building.
For residents who prefer to participate from home, the district is providing a virtual attendance option through Zoom. Participants can join the session using the meeting ID 667 1085 9414 and the passcode 561035.
The district, led by Superintendent Andrew Samoil, currently serves about 1,833 students across nine schools in Prince Rupert, Port Edward, Metlakatla, and Hartley Bay. Recent administrative efforts have included gathering public feedback for the 2026/27 annual budget, a survey process that concluded on April 30, 2026.
