Raymond High School in Raymond, Alberta, has announced plans to create a hybrid time capsule that will stay sealed until the year 2076. The project invites students, staff, alumni, families, and community members to contribute items that capture life at the school in 2026.
The time capsule will hold both physical keepsakes and digital memories. The school’s announcement on July 12, 2026, said it is a way to celebrate the school community and keep today’s memories for future generations.
People who want to take part can submit a digital message through a Google Form. Staff will save those messages on a USB drive and tuck it inside the capsule before it is sealed for 50 years. Details on contributing physical keepsakes have not yet been announced.
Raymond High School traces its roots to 1902, when the first schoolhouse went up. The current building dates to 2008, and the school serves roughly 250 to 300 students in grades 10 through 12. The Comets are part of the Westwind School Division.
The time capsule project lands at a moment of change. A new high school building has been completed next to the Comet football stadium, with a community open house planned for September 10, 2026.
