The Regina Pats junior hockey team officially earned a spot in the Western Hockey League playoffs on March 21, 2026, marking their first post-season appearance in Regina in three years. This return to the playoffs follows a season where the team overcame a difficult start to finish seventh in the Eastern Conference.
The team ended the regular season with 59 points and a record of 25 wins, 34 losses, and nine overtime losses. They secured their playoff berth following a loss by the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday, completing a turnaround after the team lost its first six games of the season.
Regina will now face the Medicine Hat Tigers, who are the defending league champions, in the opening round of the playoffs. Goaltender Marek Schlenker was named the team’s most outstanding player for the season, while rookie forward Maddox Schultz set a new franchise record for most goals by a 15-year-old, scoring his 13th of the season on his 16th birthday.
Playoff hockey returns to the Brandt Centre this spring, with local home games scheduled for March 31, 2026, and April 1, 2026. This marks the first time local families can watch the team in the post-season at home since 2023.
