Regina, Saskatchewan, will host the 23rd annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championships from May 3 to May 9, 2026. This major sports event will bring elite Indigenous hockey players from across the country to compete at the Co-operators Centre on Treaty 4 territory.
The tournament is organized by the Aboriginal Sport Circle and is being held in partnership with the Ochapowace Nation. It features top male and female athletes under the age of 18 who represent their home provinces and territories.
Teams from across Canada are currently finalizing their rosters, including Hockey Alberta, which recently announced its male team lineup. The games provide a platform for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit youth to show their skills to scouts and fans.
According to the Ontario Hockey Association, the event is designed to foster cultural pride and community engagement alongside competitive play. The championships move to a different city each year to highlight local facilities and Indigenous culture.
