Students at Rimbey Junior/Senior High School will have new gym equipment this fall after the school received a $5,000 Every Kid Every Community grant from Hockey Alberta in September 2026.
The funding has been used to buy new floor hockey gear, scooters for scooter floor hockey, and lacrosse equipment for the physical education program.
Kelly LeBlanc, vice chair of the Rimbey Junior/Senior High School Parent Foundation, said the grant allowed the school to bring brand-new equipment into the PE program. The school serves about 350 students in grades 7 to 12.
The Every Kid Every Community grant program is part of the Hockey Alberta Foundation and supports youth hockey-focused activities across Alberta. Community grants are limited to $5,000 per group each year.
