Rimbey, Alberta is heading into a stretch of sunny, warm weather before rain chances return mid-week, according to Environment Canada.
As of 3 p.m. Monday, August 31, Leedale weather station reported sunny skies, a temperature of 20 C, northwest winds at 5 km/h and 42 percent humidity. No weather alerts are in effect for the area.
Monday’s high is expected to reach 21 C, with Tuesday bringing the warmest day of the week at 24 C and humidex 27. Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 22 C.
Rain chances increase Thursday with a 60 percent chance of showers and a high of 19 C. Friday cools further to 15 C with a 30 percent chance of showers.
Residents planning outdoor activities may want to take advantage of Monday and Tuesday’s clear conditions. Those with gardening or harvest plans should note the return of rain chances beginning Thursday.
The pleasant weather follows a notable milestone for the province: August 2026 was Alberta’s first wildfire-free August in 40 years, due to record-setting rainfall in June and July. The Calgary Forest Area, which includes Rimbey, reports moderate wildfire danger as of August 28 with no active fires burning.
