Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 23°C and a humidex of 26. There is a 30% chance of showers overnight as winds shift to the north, gusting up to 50 km/h. The overnight low is forecast to be 13°C.
Thursday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, clearing near noon, with a high of 19°C. North winds gusting to 50 km/h will ease off in the morning, then become northwest 20 near noon. Sunny skies will continue Friday and Saturday, with highs of 23°C and 24°C. It is an ideal stretch for anyone planning outdoor activities or looking to break out the garden tools.
The fair weather will not last into Sunday, when periods of rain move back in with a high of 18°C. The chance of showers continues into Sunday night at 60%, with a low of 11°C.
While the mid-week forecast is inviting for campers and backyard fire pits, the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area, which includes Rimbey, remains under high wildfire danger. A fire advisory is in effect for most of the region, meaning new fire permits are only issued for essential burning on a case-by-case basis. Safe campfires are still allowed within the advisory area.
Portions of Mountain View County and the Municipal District of Bighorn inside the Forest Protection Area are under a stricter fire restriction, which prohibits all outdoor wood fires on public land, including random camping spots.
So far in 2026, the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area has responded to 58 wildfires that have burned more than 1,200 hectares. Anyone planning to have a fire is urged to check current restrictions at Alberta Fire Bans before lighting anything outdoors.
