Residents on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, can now sign up for various community activities as registration for the 2026 spring and summer season officially opened on March 4, 2026. The Salt Spring Island Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture department released its new guide detailing programs that will run from April through August.
The seasonal guide includes a wide variety of fitness classes, recreation activities, and arts programs for people of all ages. Local officials recommend that residents register early to secure their spots in popular courses and to help with planning for the upcoming warmer months.
Registration began at 8:30 a.m. and can be completed through an online portal, by calling over the phone, or in person at the Rainbow Recreation Centre. These community services and local facilities are managed under the oversight of the Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission.
As a service of the Capital Regional District, the parks and recreation department aims to provide accessible health and educational opportunities for everyone on the island. The guide acts as a roadmap for residents looking to stay active and connected with their neighbours through the summer.
