Residents of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, will have a new culinary experience to look forward to this summer with the announcement of the island’s first Asian food festival. The event is set to take place on July 18, 2026, at Bullock Lake Farm.
The festival, which runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., is being organized by chef Haan Palcu-Chang. Palcu-Chang is a finalist from the 11th season of Top Chef Canada and previously led the team at the Toronto restaurant Favorites Thai BBQ, which holds a Bib Gourmand designation from the Michelin Guide.
The event is expected to feature a variety of critically acclaimed chefs from Salt Spring Island, the Lower Mainland, and Toronto, including other Top Chef Canada finalists and Michelin-recognized cooks. Early bird tickets are currently available for $140. Each ticket includes exclusive merchandise, a complimentary cocktail or mocktail, and a plate featuring 3-4 bites from every participating chef.
Bullock Lake Farm, located at 360 Upper Ganges Rd, is a 24-acre heritage site known for hosting various community events, including farm-to-table dinners and workshops. This festival marks a notable addition to the local food scene on the island, which is the largest and most populous of the Southern Gulf Islands.
Details regarding the festival were shared publicly on the Salt Spring Exchange. Further information can be found through Mama Flos, the organization handling ticket sales and event inquiries.
