Residents in Sarnia and across the region can pick up affordable reading materials and media this May as the Lambton County Library hosts a series of Mini Book Sales at local branches. These events are timed to coincide with town-wide garage sales, offering community members a chance to browse a selection of books, DVDs, and audiobooks for 25 cents per item.
The library system, which operates 25 branches throughout the county, holds these sales to help manage its collection. Items included in the sales are typically those that have not been borrowed by a patron in three years, which are removed to make room for new materials. Because these are limited-time events, library officials note that quantities are limited.
The upcoming events are set for the following locations:
- Point Edward Library on May 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Forest Library on May 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Camlachie Library on May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
All proceeds raised from the sales will go toward supporting the library’s operating costs. Residents with specific questions about the events can contact the Lambton County Library administrative office at 519-845-3324.
